“It’s a potentially sublime time of retreat, tying up loose (karmic) ends and dreaming a new dream. This year, Pisces season begins on February 18th (Tuesday) and is the dark before the Spring dawn with the Equinox on March 20th.

“Pisces is known as the least worldly, and most spiritually-inspired of the Zodiac signs. From Per Henrik Gullfoss’ The Complete Book of Spiritual Astrology: ‘The nature of Pisces energy is to dream the world into reality and to change reality by dreaming up another reality — to embrace fantasy and have the creativity to see with the inner eye that a totally different world can be created.’

“‘Gullfoss says Pisces’ ‘inner energy of love and longing’ is in danger of being lost without a goal, and drowning in compassion. And as a sign that swims in two worlds – the inner and the outer — the ‘happy fish’ is one that moves freely in both.

“The Sun joins a constellation of planets already in Pisces — and will converge streams with Neptune on February 23rd and Chiron (the wise wounded healer) on March 3rd.

“Mercury ends its retrograde on the 28th and will be back in Pisces on March 17th, making four in the Pisces-bundle. It’s pure magic when the messenger meets Neptune (on March 22nd) just after Spring Equinox.

“There’s a lot of between-a-rock-and-a-hard-place energy right now, and cosmic stress. What I note here is that Pisces has the secret to softening and dissolving what seems like it’s hopeless.

“There’s the mutual reception of heavyweights Saturn and Pluto, so lots of agitating to get to the bottom of what’s wrong and transform it. And Pisces is favorably angled to both Scorpio (trine) and Capricorn (sextile). It’s the idea that everything is cyclical, civilizations rise and fall (just look at all the underwater ruins). Though it looks at times like dark power is winning, Pisces’ sight potentially reveals this as simply one timeline, one possibility among many.

“What comes to mind, is Arundhati Roy’s famous quote: ‘Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.’ That when the future looks bleak, it’s time to dream up something new.
