Here is the MYSTICMAMMA report for this NEW MOON in Capricorn. First NEW MOON of the year and wonderful time to set our intentions for what we want to create in 2013.
Here’s the round-up, first from the always awesome Dipali Desai and her Celestial Space Astrology Blog:
“The New Moon is in Capricorn at 21 degrees on January 11th, 2012. There are quiet a few planets in Capricorn at one time. Consider this phase to be extra focused on being realistic and grounded with your approach to anything.”
“…with all these planets in Capricorn, there is a opportunity to concentrate on having “rock solid integrity” with all that we do, express, and share. Integrity comes forth naturally when one is aligned with Soul. It is representing the totality of your authentic self, not who you pretend to be or have fashioned your image into being. When a person acts with and embodies integrity, their word is like gold, and the follow through is a given. With so many planets in Capricorn, there is great concentration on having integrity within and being around others who also walk their talk. No guessing games, things are clearly defined through silent pragmatic action.”
New moon phase suggests a new beginning feeling and with it being the first New Moon in the New Year, it is extra important to direct the energies in a constructive way. With a step at a time patient and committed we can attain the goal and reach to the top of the symbolic mountain. Capricorn is also the sign of initiation and attainment on a Spiritual level. It is that of self-mastery. Perhaps one possibility is that each must demonstrate a new level of maturity and self-mastery now that we have a new clean slate upon which to build a solid foundation for the year ahead.”
“One key here is commitment. Be committed to follow through on your word. With sincere efforts and due diligence, there are abundant rewards for a job well done. The fruits of one’s labor is experienced on many levels. And in the physical world, we may see things materialize that we have be patiently awaiting from long long ago.”

From astrologer Leah Whitehorse from Lua Astrology:
“This lunation is heavy on Capricorn energy given that there are now five planets (the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Pluto) slogging over rocky ground. Generally when the new moon is in Capricorn, it’s time to get down to business…”
“A conjunction to Mercury puts your mind firmly on the task at hand. It’s a serious frame of mind, one that doesn’t want to deal with anything overly emotional. You may feel weighed down with everything but it’s important to keep some perspective and avoid pessimism. A realistic approach will keep you grounded and more able to cope.”
“…the quincunx to Lilith is the wild part of you craving release from all this all work and no play. Somehow you need to give her a little space to breathe even if your to do list is still full. Otherwise Lilith is going to mess with you mind until you at least acknowledge her.”
“An applying sesquiquadrate to Jupiter cautions you against going overboard or thinking you need to know every last thing before you start. It’s time to shut down the excess voices, close Facebook, Twitter and your email and just get on with what you need to do. The sesquiquadrate typically evokes feels of ‘it’s too much’ or ‘it’s not enough’ and discontent can ripple into dissatisfaction so that whatever you do, you don’t feel happy with it. A simple solution is just to gently encourage yourself, remember to congratulate yourself for a job well done even if you’d rather be out playing with your friends.”
“The semi-square to Chiron suggests that you are sensitive to failure right now and need to curb those any tendencies towards hurting yourself because you are fumbling over the key to get to the next place you need to be. The door is probably open anyway and just a sharp nudge will be all that’s needed to get through. With the Moon also sextile to the North Node, keep your sights on your purpose and it will be easier to do what you need to do. It takes a bit of effort, I know.”
“There’s certainly some frustration present in this lunation but much of that feeling may come from expectation of where you think you should be by now. It may be that you’ve just started out on a new path and can only see the endless stretch of road in front of you. Maybe you feel like you keep running out of time or that you’re facing an impossible task. It may seem like everyone else seems to be able to do what’s required of them but you’re struggling…”
“The trick this lunation is to accept that slow progress IS progress. If you find something isn’t working, no matter how much work you’ve put into it, don’t be afraid to start again. Your work won’t be wasted, it all counts towards experience and this time you will have a better idea of what works and what doesn’t. No one said it was going to be easy, but ease is a state of mind.”

From the wise Cathy Lynn Pagano and her Wisdom of Astrology:
“The other big planetary energy affecting this new Moon is Uranus in Aries aligned with the asteroid Pallas.  As I’ve mentioned many times, Uranus in Aries is asking us to find our ‘big story’ our archetypal identity that carries our destiny.  Pallas Athena represents the creative intelligence that can serve us, especially in times of need.  In Aries, her sudden inspirations can initiate new projects and bold innovations.  With Uranus, Pallas opens us to a visionary and humanitarian view of the world.  With Mars in Uranus’ sign of Aquarius and Uranus in Mars’ sign of Aries, the impulse is strong to take up our destiny and change our world.”
“The Divine Feminine is awake in the world, bringing her gift of Wisdom, if we will only open our hearts to hear her.   Value your feelings and use your mind to understand what they’re telling you. Open to your intuitions, because that’s the part of you that sees the whole rather than just the parts.”
“This is the New Moon to set down your goals for the year.  These goals need discipline and commitment, but also love and inspiration.  It’s the balance that will make the difference.”

From the always insighful Kelly Rosano:
“The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Pluto, Juno and Venus are in Capricorn at the New Moon.  We have a whole lot of Capricorn going on. The New Moon is empowering us to take charge of our lives.  Be leaders with honor and integrity. Jupiter in Gemini is making an agitating aspect to the New Moon. This adds nervous energy, over-stimulation and multiple choices pulling us in several directions. We will want to apply greater self-control and emotional poise if we are to effectively channel the New Moon energy…”
“We need to breathe deeply, ground and center ourselves before taking action.  Then we can move from our heart.  We are setting the foundation for the next twelve months. Be practical, patient and persevering in your approach for personal and professional success.”
“The Capricorn New Moon sets the stage for the next thirty day cycle.  This is an excellent New Moon to energize ourselves for the weeks and months ahead.  We can create a strong personal foundation in Capricorn and achieve our goals.   We are to use our power wisely. Be a conscious creator.”

From Robert Wilkinson and his Aquarius Papers:
“Over the next 4 weeks, the New Moon in Capricorn indicates a time where we will organize or reorganize the potential futures of last month, and surrender to achieve victory. The next four weeks we get to go into a deeper faith, and grow through seeing the structural strengths or weaknesses in plans and ideas, and find the ‘way within to outer success.’ This period shows us shortcuts to achieving our intention where we can accomplish a lot.”
“This New Moon in Capricorn is pragmatic, organizing, and will show us how well we are doing what we’re doing as we move away from what is known and familiar…”
“The next four weeks will throw everyone into a concentrated self-reorganization within a larger group context, help us in the next stage of letting go of fear in all its forms, and help us achieve our goals through a) seeing a clear vision of what is to be accomplished, b) getting a step-plan that helps us achieve our goals, and c) figuring out the right time to begin the effort. That will yield a quickening that can get us through the tunnel, and see the light at the other end as the reward for making the passage, and not a train coming right at us!”
“…Much that we focus on during the next 4 weeks will help us to a new understanding, a new view, a new way of organizing all the information and potential opened at the last New Moon, and center us in the faith that if we know what will nourish us, go to the right place and do the right effort, we shall find what we need.”
